Dinner: Butter chicken with Jasmine rice from The Tulip and Rose in Franklin New York, previously frozen. I reheated both in the sous vide 40 minutes at 140°F. Then transferred the butter chicken to a sauté pan and finished reheating with some additional cream to smooth out the sauce. It worked perfectly! And a glass of Fish Eye sauvignon blanc.

I warmed the chicken for 30 seconds in the microwave from refrigerator temperature, then transferred it to a sauté pan on low. I added cream to the sauce to thin it, and it worked perfectly!

It was already in a few pieces after trimming and deboning the roast before vacuum sealing and freezing, so after reheating for 30 minutes at 123°F I just went ahead and finished cutting it into bite-sized pieces. It's way easier with a chef's knife in the kitchen!

Dinner: Barbecue wings from Gavin's in Sidney, NY, seasoned French fries (2.8 oz.), and a glass of Bota Box malbec. I previously vacuum sealed and froze the wings. Reheated for 45 minutes at 160°F in the sous vide from frozen, then transferred to a 350°F oven for 6 minutes. That worked perfectly!

Snack: 1.0 oz. Sriracha chex mix and a spicy Blood Mary. And, later, 2 pieces of bacon.

Cooked and froze 2 pounds of bacon.

Vacuum sealed and froze sliced deli ham.

Started a small batch of hot pepper infused vodka. The tomato vodka doesn't have much flavor, but it would be good with hot peppers in my spicy Bloody Mary.

Lunch: Ham and Swiss cheese sandwich and Kettle Chips hot jalapeño potato chips.

Made a batch of Coq au vin #2.

Snack: Cabot seriously sharp cheddar and Triscuits.


Dinner: Coq au vin and a glass of Fish Eye New Zealand sauvignon blanc.

Weight at beginning of the day: 132.8 lbs.
Weight at the beginning of the next day: 133.6 lbs.

I replaced my scale on August 7, 2019. When comparing to dates before then, add 2.8 pounds to the old value to match
the current scale.

What I ate: May 1, 2020

Breakfast: Chorizo breakfast burrito with chorizo, onion, green pepper, jalapeño and egg. Reheat of the filling I cooked Sunday in a freshly heated whole wheat tortilla.

Snack: 1.0 oz. Sriracha chex mix. And, later, peanuts and beef jerky.


Lunch: Veggie chicken patty sandwich and sweet potato fries (90 grams). And a Lagunitas IPA.

Snack: Peanuts and trail mix.


Dinner: Crumb pork chop, and rice. And a glass of Fish Eye New Zealand sauvignon blanc.
